The Indo-Canadian Business Chamber (ICBC) is an exclusive membership-based organisation based in India, dedicated to increasing trade and bi-lateral relations between India and Canada. ICBC is a not-for-profit organisation with a leadership that engages with key decision-makers in India and Canada to foster economic growth, educational advancement and bi-lateral relations.Founded in 1994, ICBC has a strong membership base from a cross-section of business and industry, in a variety of sectors of Indian and Canadian members who are involved in doing cross-border business between the two countries. ICBC also received the Governor General of Canada’s Medallion in 2014 for being a friend of Canada, for the exceptional role played by the Chamber in promoting bilateral trade and building strong relationships between the two countries.
ICBC has contributed immensely to the ongoing increase of bilateral trade and its diversification by exchange of trade and investment delegations, power launches and interactive sessions, and creating tie-ups with bilateral chambers of India’s neighbouring countries like Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka. It acts as a bridge between Canada and these adjoining countries and has signed MoU’s with the Business Chambers of these countries. ICBC possesses detailed knowledge of Canadian industrial strengths gleaned by over 25 years of managing India-Canada bilateral commercial visits; ministerial-led business missions from Canada; along with regular visits to the Canadian market and meeting with Canadian companies first-hand to hear their market aspirations in India.
