Ms. Terrie Romano’s current position is with the Ontario Ministry of International Trade as the Director of the International Missions Secretariat, where she oversaw the International Missions Management Unit during the Premier’s trip to South Korea, Ministers’ Mission to UAE, as well as the establishment of the new Inbound Business Initiatives Unit. Ms. Romano has also served as Ontario’s SEO/CBS for 10 years in the Munich office co-located at the Canadian Consulate, leading the team of Locally Engaged Staff representing Ontario’s trade and investment interests in Germany by attracting investments, generating new business opportunities for Ontario companies, fostering research collaboration and raising Ontario's profile.Fluent in French, German and Italian, as a Canadian diplomat Ms. Romano was posted to Detroit and London, England and undertook a number of overseas assignments in Kenya, Denmark, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia. The holder of a Ph.D. from Yale University, Ms. Romano had a distinguished academic career that included time as an Assistant Professor at Queen’s School of Medicine in Kingston, a Visiting Scholar at Bielefeld University in Germany and a Visiting Scholar at Cambridge University in England, before she joined the Canadian Foreign Service.
