Mr. Pinaki Bhattacharyya leads AMP Solar’s India business. AMP Solar is a global solar IPP with perhaps the most diversified portfolio of 2000 MW across Canada, UK, US, Japan and India with 420 MW executed across ground mount projects and 6600 rooftop projects. Mr. Bhattacharyya has over 17 years of diverse experience across the energy value chain in leadership, business creation, operational, PE investments and financing roles in India and US. He is a BE (Mechanical) from Delhi College of Engineering and an MBA from Cornell University in the US. Just before joining AMP, Mr. Bhattacharyya served as the CFO for the transmission line business at Sterlite Grid and also led new business creation initiatives in Sterlite Technologies (Vedanta Group). Prior to AMP, he co-led the incubation and management of one of the leading renewable IPPs in the country, Green Infra (An IDFC Private Equity venture) to a 1 GW portfolio from scratch. At IDFC Private equity, he also managed one of the largest renewable energy PE portfolio of USD 400 M across the solar and wind value chain including investments in Green Infra, Suzlon, Moser Baer, EVI and GMR Energy. Prior to 2008 he was in the start-up team of the first renewable energy project equity fund in US, New Energy Capital that was formed by Vantage Point Venture Partners, a USD 4B VC fund in US that backed companies like Tesla.
